BRAZILIAN REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS CAMPAIGNERS CONDEMN ANTI-ABORTION HARASSMENT OF 10 YEAR OLD GIRL SEEKING ABORTION

SAAF grantee partner Anis is quoted in a Guardian article addressing the case of a 10 year old girl in need of an abortion after being raped by her uncle since the age of six.

“Brazil’s laws are clearly inadequate and put millions of women at risk. According to our figures half a million women must subject themselves to illegal abortions each year,” Rondon said. “That’s almost one woman per minute.”
